The occupiers will soon halt their offensive actions.
The storming of Lisichansk and the possible temporary occupation of Severodonetsk will not guarantee a turning point in the full-scale war in favour of the Russian occupation force, but rather it will finally deplete the Russian forces and reduce the pace of their offensive.
This is reported by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
According to the analysts, the Russian occupiers will halt their offensive actions in the coming weeks, which will allow the AFU to launch a counter-offensive.
So far the occupation army, although it has achieved tactical success in the Severodonetsk-Lisichansk area, the Ukrainian defenders have also achieved their objective in this battle, slowing down and exhausting the Russians.
The occupiers are now probably close to the outskirts of Lisichansk, reinforcing their grouping around Severodonetsk in order to seize the two towns at last. To this end, experts say, the occupiers have allegedly blocked Ukrainian land communication lines along the T1302 road, which allows them to reinforce their assault on Lisichansk. At the same time, such "achievements" will not give the Russian occupiers a significant advantage in further military operations.
The Russian occupants are also trying to encircle the AFU units in Gornoye and Zolotoye in order to take control of these settlements. Additionally, the enemy has accumulated military equipment and continues to build up its defence potential along the southern direction.
