The Belarusian authorities have almost defeated NATO in their television.
Since Serbia was the initiator of the First one, who better than it to start the Third one. But the bogeyman story was short-lived, so many people did not even have time to get frightened.
Some Kremlin people just like to scare the world with historical analogies. And now there is a direct reason to scare the world with something to distract attention from alternative successes of the special operation. And, of course, these Kremlin people would rather have HIMERS targeting the Serbian army than Russian military depots.
But the Serbian authorities' instinct for self-preservation has so far proved to be stronger than fraternal feelings. And more convincing than cheap gas. This is because one cannot fight with historical analogies. And the Serbian authorities themselves, apparently, do not really believe in these analogies. On the contrary, they believe in the ability of NATO mission to intervene if the regional "stability is threatened".
Still, the historical analogy with the First World War is not very appropriate. That is because for all the geographical similarities, there is now one small but essential difference. When a hundred years ago the assassination of the Austrian Archduke happened, Serbia had an impressive pool of defenders. Now there is only one defender, and that defender has only verbal interventions among the uninvolved means of defence. Russia's stock of verbal interventions, of the most ruthless nature, is abundant, but their effectiveness has been severely diminished by the challenging alternative successes of the world's second army in Ukraine.
So if there is any place to fear for world stability, it is in the opposite geographical region. Because China and NATO certainly have the power and means to shake global stability over Taiwan. But it is big-league politics, which neither the Belarusian nor the Russian authorities are ready for.
Moreover, the Belarusian authorities have been too busy to distract themselves with all sorts of international nonsense. Because the harvest has once again entered the warpath. And, as usual, treacherously, without formal notice. At least, judging by the urgency of the measures taken and the scale of the resources involved. Even the Belarusian army was a little distracted from defeating a conventional enemy and partly went to the battle with the harvest.
However, I am almost sure that the Belarusian authorities will beat the harvest. Well, does it have a choice? The crop has already gone through all that before. If it comes to the pinch, the TV will announce a complete and unconditional capitulation of the enemy. The Belarusian authorities have almost won NATO in their television. Never mind some crop that doesn't even have its own TV set.
