Belarusian Subdivision Being Created In Lithuania

The Lithuanian Riflemen's Union is an analogue of the territorial defense forces.

A Belarusian division is being created under the Lithuanian Riflemen's Union. According to Belsat, this was announced during a meeting of the organization on July 30.

Members of this organization learn to handle weapons, conduct guerrilla warfare, and in the event of an attack on the country must perform the functions of territorial defense. Previously, only Lithuanian citizens were admitted to the Union of Riflemen. Belarusians will become the first foreigners in the ranks of this organization.

Veteran of the Afghan war Yauhen Vilsky said:

“Now there is a lot of talk that missiles are flying from Belarus, Belarusians are becoming enemies. Lithuania does not follow this policy, and understands that it is necessary to separate Belarusians and the Lukashenka regime, Lithuania trusts Belarusians. That is, a Belarusian division is being accepted into a previously closed, very serious organization.”

President of the Lithuanian Riflemen's Union Stasys Ignatavičius expressed the opinion that Belarusians and Lithuanians now have one enemy — the Putin regime. And it is necessary to fight against it together.

Belarusians in the Union of Riflemen will be able to undergo training and, when the need arises, they will defend the country together with the Lithuanians. In the future, it is planned to develop the charter and oath of the new subdivision. It is expected that over time Ukrainians and representatives of other nations will join it.
