Lithuanian border guards have stopped 109 illegal immigrants on the border with Belarus within a day, Delfi reported on July 31, citing the State Border Guard Service of Lithuania.
According to the Lithuanian Border Guard Service, the day before the border guards turned back the same number of illegal migrants.
No attempts of illegal border crossing were recorded on the border with Latvia on July 30. Late last week, 52 illegal immigrants were stopped at the Polish-Belarusian border.
The State Border Guard Service of Lithuania has counted that during the year - from August 3, 2021 - when it was decided not to let illegal migrants into Lithuania, 11 300 people were returned to the territory of Belarus. Lithuania called the illegal attempts to cross the border a hybrid attack by the Minsk regime.
