From August 9.
Estonian bank LHV Pank will stop accepting payments from Belarusian and Russian banks from August 9 due to the “difficult international situation caused by the Russian-Ukrainian war”.
“Making payments related to Russia and Belarus has become very difficult and risky due to restrictions imposed by payment intermediary institutions. Therefore, LHV has decided to stop accepting incoming payments from Russia and Belarus in addition to the previously existing restriction on outgoing payments,” the bank’s press-center reports.
The ban will affect all currencies and all subsidiaries of Russian and Belarusian banks that may be registered or operate outside of Belarus and Russia. Payments received after August 9 will be returned to senders.
The bank will accept payments in exceptional cases related to the national interests of Estonia or social reasons (for example, payment of pensions). To receive pensions or social assistance from Belarus or Russia, the bank recommends contacting the Estonian Social Insurance Board.
