Kerch Bridge Giant Traffic Jam: 38,000 Cars Stuck

Occupied Crimea in panic.

After the explosions near Dzhankoi, a line of 38 thousand cars formed on the way to the Kerch bridge.

The coordinator and co-founder of the KrymSOS Human Rights Organization Denis Savchenko on the air of the information telethon announced this.

“The queue or traffic jam on the way to the Kerch bridge broke its record. This is about 38,000 cars. Last time, after Novofedorivka, there were about 37,000 cars that left the Crimean peninsula in the direction of the Russian Federation. The occupying authorities set up a checkpoint at the entrance to the Kerch bridge. All those who leave Crimea are checked at crossing points. In particular, they check documents, cars and personal stuff,” Savchenko said.

He explained why the railway and station at Dzhankoi are very important objects for the Russian occupiers in Crimea.

“It connects the path that unites the Russian Federation with the peninsula, but more importantly, this part of the railway in Dzhankoi was used (by occupiers - ed.) to move military equipment and manpower to occupied Kherson and Melitopol,” Savchenko said.

According to him, the degree of damage is unknown, but if train traffic is not restored in a day or two, then we can conclude that the damage is significant. "There was a specific purpose for the explosions - to counteract the enemy, and it was achieved," Savchenko stressed.

The coordinator and co-founder of the CrimeaSOS Human Rights Organization noted that after the recent events in Crimea, the rhetoric and actions of the occupying authorities of the Crimean peninsula began to change.

“The rhetoric and actions of the occupying authorities have changed a little. According to various sources, the occupation administration evacuated at least 2,000 people from the villages of Maiske (a village located at a distance of a kilometer from Azovske - ed.) and Azovske, Dzhankoi District. Some local residents left these settlements using their own transport. An emergency situation was declared in the Dzhankoi region. Witnesses are reporting explosions and smoke in that area. However, of course, it cannot be said that a full-scale evacuation from the Crimean peninsula will be organized, simply because the Russian occupiers are kept solely by lies and repressions,” Savchenko emphasized.

Recall, on August 16, in the military unit, in the village of Azovskoye, Dzhankoysky district of Crimea, an ammunition detonation occurred at an ammunition depot.

A series of explosions thundered and a fire broke out in the Saki airfield on August 9 near Novofedorivka. The explosions destroyed at least 9 aircraft.
