Events will develop incrementally.
Vladimir Putin, the head of aggressor state Russia, unfortunately, still has enough missiles to strike our country, including on Independence Day. But the latest actions of the enemy indicate that he is no longer tied to dates, which means that there may not be massive "holiday" attacks.
A protest is maturing in Russia because of the colossal losses of the occupying army in Ukraine. Losses exceeded 45,000 people. Sooner or later it will go national and create a real problem for the regime.
This opinion was expressed in an exclusive interview with obozrevatel.com by the former Deputy Minister for Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons Heorhy Tuka.
– Today, we are all scared that Russia has prepared "surprises" for Independence Day, that missile strikes may intensify, and so on. In your opinion, does the enemy have enough missiles, is there anything to hit with, and is such a task set at all?
– As for whether there is anything, then, unfortunately, there is. Not only our intelligence has information indicating that in recent days there has been an accumulation of the missile arsenal, for example, in Belarus.
As for the moment of striking on Independence Day, from my point of view, despite the fact that we still continue to repeat that Putin is committed to some sacred dates, I see some destruction of this mythology.
Therefore, I am not ready to support the point of view that strikes of great intensity are being prepared for this very day. Although this cannot be ruled out, therefore, it is necessary to prepare for the most unpleasant scenarios performed by the Russian Aerospace Forces.
– The US Embassy urged its citizens to leave Ukraine due to current threats. We remember that embassies left Ukraine at the beginning of the war. Do you think that this last message is also a negative signal for us?
– It's close enough. The Americans are also afraid that Russia may launch a series of strikes on Kyiv by Independence Day. But I don't see anything wrong with that call. This is a normal thing from a security point of view. The Americans are calling on their fellow citizens, and employees to leave the dangerous, from the point of view of the American embassy, locations.
– Another significant event. Polish President Andrzej Duda arrived in Kyiv on the eve of Independence Day. Completely opposite sign, right?
– Yes, the presidents of Poland and Lithuania have repeatedly demonstrated even more than just pro-Ukrainian position. To be honest, they repeatedly acted in defiance of the Russian aggressors and occupiers. Of course, it's nice that our Polish colleague has once again visited Kyiv in defiance of the Russian scoundrels.
– Question about the Dugina's murder. Earlier in Kherson, the car of collaborator Telegin was blown up. It is clear that Ukraine has nothing to do with the first incident, which has already been officially announced. But can these events have a demoralizing effect on the occupiers?
– Undermining an SUV with Dugina can be easily attributed to terrorist acts. I categorically do not believe that our Ukrainian special services could be involved in this car bombing. This is complete nonsense.
If our forces act in this way, then I have no doubt that it will be primarily about the destruction of Russian military targets, and not any propagandists and ideologists. No, this is not our method. I have no doubt at all.
Regarding the effect of undermining Dugina's car, the question is rather complicated. Such actions, that is, the liquidation of civilians, despite the political convictions of this woman, will cause an extremely negative reaction from the vast majority of the civilian population, including EU citizens. Therefore, I do not think that our special services need such a reputation.
Another thing is the elimination of those scoundrels who are part of the structures of the occupation administrations. These are completely different cases. It is one thing to liquidate various kinds of Gauleiters or their assistants, employees of the occupation administrations, and quite another thing is to liquidate a person who lives somewhere in the middle of nowhere.
I do not think that the reputation of our special services will benefit from such information stuffing from Russia.
– The last question is about the losses of the occupiers. To date, according to the General Staff, this figure has exceeded 45,000. There is information that Russian mothers are beginning to raise their voices against the war. Do you think that this number, which will constantly increase, will hinder the process of mobilization in Russia and sooner or later Putin will face the fact that he simply runs out of soldiers?
– Yes, I am ready to support this point of view. On one condition: do not expect that this will happen in the near future and in the form of some kind of social explosion within Russia.
No, this process will go rather slowly, on the rise, but the result will be exactly what you said about - protests will begin. At first, they will be exclusively local in nature, and then, perhaps, they will move to the national level. Yes, I believe it is possible.
