Ukrainian Army Crosses Oskil River: Current Maps Of Military Operations

The offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Kharkiv region continues.

The Ukrainian armed forces continue their counter-offensive, pushing back Russian troops in the south and east and inflicting heavy losses on them. Information has emerged that Ukrainian soldiers have forced the River Oskil in Borova (an urban-type settlement in Izyum District, Kharkiv Region).

Up-to-date maps of combat operations in Ukraine were published by the American Institute for War Studies (ISW) on Twitter.

As the analysts noted, the Ukrainian armed forces' forcing of the river Oskil in Borova was reported by Russian sources on September 13.

Analysts note that Kremlin bloggers identified Oskil as a new front line.

"On September 13, they informed that the Ukrainian armed forces had waded across the river at Borova, some 30km northeast of Izyum and close to the Luhansk Region's administrative border," the ISW report said.

The Institute for the Study of War is convinced that this indicates that Ukrainian forces are continuing localised ground attacks to threaten Russian positions across the river.

"At the same time, Russian forces are unlikely to be strong enough to prevent further advance of Ukrainian forces along the entire River Oskil because they do not seem to receive reinforcements, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces could probably use this weakness to resume a counteroffensive across the Oskil if they so choose," the analysts added.
