H&M Temporarily Opened In Minsk

No new items will be available.

H&M reopened in Belarus on September 19. All three stores in Minsk and Grodno have been closed for more than six months. On the eve of the opening, H&M reported that the fashion retailer would completely leave Belarus. For now, it will sell out its stocks. Realt went to Galleria Minsk for the opening and looked at what is on sale in H&M, their prices and the number of customers.

Early in August, when the clothes were displayed in the store, and one could see mannequins with price tags, we assumed the store could open soon. H&M Belarus also mentioned the opening in August, but closer to that time the post about it was deleted. Today, there are the same mannequins in the windows. A summer flower dress is on sale for 74 rubles 99 kopecks, and a light grey sweater for 49 rubles 99 kopecks. Shoes (judging by the mannequin, they are sneakers) cost 80 rubles 99 kopecks.

Today, a few dozen of people gathered near the store before the opening. H&M opened exactly at 10 o'clock. The clothes are neatly hung on the racks. Judging by the labels, they are not new collections but the things that were left when the store closed in March.

Regarding prices, there are no obvious standout items in the store. Women's jeans cost 59 rubles 99 kopecks, a cardigan - 49 rubles 99 kopecks, the same price is for sports pants, a tank top is on sale for 24 rubles 99 kopecks. Women's sneakers cost from 80.99 to 99.99.

There are several racks of women's clothing labelled 'sale'. There are knitted dresses, sweatshirts, pants. A dress is on sale for 19.99 (used to cost 49.99); the same price for grey jersey pants; a sweater is 31.99 (the original price was also 49.99).

The men's department is traditionally a little less crowded. There are enough people, too. A warm jacket with a checked print can be bought for 74 rubles 99 kopecks, a knitted vest for 59 rubles 99 kopecks and a regular shirt for 49 rubles 99 kopecks.

Within half an hour after the opening, there are already over 20 people in line in the fitting room.

H&M will not deliver new items. The store will be open until they sell out all the things, the sellers say.

H&M has closed in Belarus following Russia. In July, H&M Group reported that its stores would return to Belarus but without specifics of when exactly and for how long. Thus, on July 29, the VK account of the brand announced a reopening in August. A few days later, the news was deleted for unknown reasons. Late last week, it was reported that H&M would open in Belarus on September 19. However, the fashion retailer soon reported the opening was for the sale of stocks. Then business will leave Belarus.
