New Life Church Pastor Detained In Minsk

Possibly for conducting worship services.

Pastor of the New Life Protestant Church Viachaslau Hancharenka was detained in Minsk. This was reported to Charter97.org by readers. Later, information about his detention appeared on the Instagram account of the church.

In 2021, the authorities took the building away from the church. Since then, believers have gathered every Sunday in the parking lot next to the church building for prayer.

The pastor is likely to stand trial on Sunday precisely for one of such meetings.

This is not the first time that believers and clerics who criticize the actions of the official regime are persecuted in Belarus.
