AFU Encircled Two Russian Battalions Near Lyman

The invaders were surrounded near the village of Drobysheve.

Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine encircled two battalions of Russian occupiers in the area of Lyman, Kramatorsk district, Donetsk region, according to war correspondent Yuriy Butusov on Facebook.

According to him, the invaders were surrounded near the village of Drobysheve.

“Russian channels report that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have surrounded two battalions of BARS mercenaries in the village of Drobysheve. These detachments were previously surrounded in Izyum and fled the city without a fight, now they are thrown into the defence of another "festung" without rotation and reorganization," he noted.

Butusov stressed that Drobysheve is a key communication node north of Lyman, and the liberation of the village means that Russian troops will soon make a "planned grouping and leave Lyman".

He also noted that the defence of Lyman has very weak and under-equipped units.

"The fact that they use under-equipped units in such a key area as Drobysheve suggests that the Russian army is still unable to stabilize the front and does not have combat-ready operational reserves. The Ukrainian troops do not allow the Russians to stabilize the Oskol Front and retain the tactical initiative. Obviously, we even underestimate the level of the crisis in the combat capability of the Russian Armed Forces. The mobilization announced by the Russian Federation is necessary not for an offensive, but for saving the collapsing front. They are going to plug holes with freshly mobilized meat,” Butusov added.
