Russian Military Hit Power Station In Belgorod With Their Own Missile

A part of the town was left without power.

A power substation in the Russian town of Belgorod has exploded, leaving several parts of the town in total darkness. It turned out that the substation was hit by a missile fired by the Russian military towards Ukraine, obozrevatel.com writes.

This is reported by local Telegram channels. They are also distributing a video from the scene. Representatives of the local authorities have not yet commented on the situation.

"There is no light in many districts of Belgorod right now. Eyewitnesses are reporting that they saw a flash in the sky before the lights went out completely. ... And here's the reason for the blackout - there was an explosion at the substation," writes the Kursk Beaumonde telegram channel.

"The substation at Knyaz Trubetskoy has caught fire. Got up to the window because of the frequent blue flashes in the sky. It was burning for a minute after which it settled down and the fire brigade was seen arriving," the Zhest Belgorod telegram channel reported.

"Now watching the moment: the sky was lit up, the rocket didn't take off, a flash on the horizon, lit up the sky and 20 seconds later a distinctive sound. Other publishers report that the flash was before the lights went out," the Telegram channel Belgorod Informant wrote.

Recall that spontaneous "bavovna" has been happening in Belgorod with varying regularity since early July. The local population is alarmed, trying to leave the city and demanding explanations from the regional and federal authorities.

The Russian military continues to insist that numerous explosions in Belgorod are due to heat and smoking in the wrong place. The Ukrainian Defence Ministry has ironically poked fun at such explanations.
