The “elite” troops left their flag, weapons, and personal belongings on the positions.
Ukrainian political scientist, officer of the First Separate Special Purpose Brigade named after Ivan Bohun Taras Berezovets spoke in detail about how the Russian invaders abandoned the “Moscow” position in the village of Nova Husarivka, which is located 12 kilometers from Balakliya.
“The soldiers of our special purpose battalion Dyke Polie captured the flag of the 150th Order of Kutuzov of the Idritsa division there. This is a replica of the victory flag, installed in 1945 over the Reichstag. Our fighters removed it from the flagpole. They (the occupiers — edit.) fled so rapidly that they left all their stuff,” the serviceman said on the air of the Pryamiy TV channel.
During the conversation, Berezovets noted that, in addition to the flag, there were also slippers, toothpaste, hair gels and other hygiene items at the positions. And also striped vests!
“It was a landing force, the legendary Russian paratroopers, the Airborne Forces!” emphasized the officer. “They left us their weapons: Bassoons, top-secret electronic warfare equipment, a bunch of shells for cannons, a lot of mines and cartridges, in a word, they left a lot.”

Then Berezovets recalled the rule that has existed since the times of Ancient Rome: if a military unit has lost its battle flag, it must be disbanded.
“And since they abandoned their flag, they should be disbanded, and in disgrace,” the Ukrainian soldier said.
Taras Berezovets also said that the brigade managed to film this whole shameful story, and compared the flight of Russian paratroopers with a scene from one legendary Soviet film.
“When the tigers broke out of the cages, remember how the team members ran there? It was like the Striped Raid movie, especially since they were also striped, they are paratroopers actually. They jumped into the Seversky Donets River. They threw everything: weapons, the flag, their honor, and sailed across the river. And our copter filmed it. An epic video. It will be interesting to watch.”
