Autobusiness Portal Editor-In-Chief Sent To Penal Colony For Participating In Protests

The sentence was made by Judge Alena Bushava.
The court of the Frunzenski district of Minsk sentenced Yulia Mudreuskaya, the editor-in-chief of the Autobusiness portal (abw.by), to 1.5 years in prison for participating in protests (Article 342 of the Criminal Code). The verdict was passed last year, but only now human rights activists have become aware of it.
Mudreuskaya's case was considered back in September, and Judge Alena Bushava sentenced her to a year and a half in prison. The journalist appealed the sentence, but in the end the verdict was left unchanged, it came into force.
The law-enforcers detained Yulia Mudreuskaya on June 16, 2022, along with executive editor of the portal Vadzim Ziankevich and special projects editor Yury Hladchuk. Criminal cases were opened against Mudreuskaya and Hladchuk, both were placed in a pre-trial detention center.
It remains unknown where they hold Yulia Mudreuskaya. Also, at the moment there is no information about the sentencing of Yury Hladchuk. His trial began on December 2.
