Media: Kremlin Is Preparing Reprisal Against Surovikin For Explosions in Makiivka
SERGEY SUROVIKIN

Putin urgently called a meeting with representatives of the power and military blocs leadership.

After the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the base of mobilized Russian occupiers in the temporarily occupied Makiivka, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin openly demanded to punish the leadership of the so-called "special military operation", including Sergei Surovikin.

According to the General SVR Telegram channel, Putin was informed about the “bangs” eight hours after the incident and provided different data regarding the number of victims and wounded among the Russian military and different interpretations of the incident.

The first report from the military indicated the number of 88 dead and missing as a result of the strike. The report of the Security Council of the Russian Federation indicated "at least 257 dead and missing".

It is reported that Putin called a meeting with the power and military blocs representatives.

“The meeting took place on the evening of January 1, and already during the meeting, representatives of the General Staff named the number of losses as a result of the strike of 105 people, and Patrushev replied that, according to his information, there were at least 290 people. Putin ordered the leadership of the military bloc to provide detailed information about the events and not to hide the real scale of the losses,” the channel writes.

“In the end, Putin took Patrushev’s version as a basis, which was close to the versions and loss figures of the FSB, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Health. In Patrushev's report, the ‘total’ losses as a result of the AFU strike on the facility in Makiivka are 312 dead and missing and 157 wounded, a list of names was attached," the report says.

According to the channel, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev accused the leadership of the military bloc of the ‘tragedy’ and demanded from Putin personnel decisions and punishment for those responsible, he named Sergei Surovikin among others.

The director of the Russian FSB, Alexander Bortnikov, allegedly supported Patrushev, he explained to Putin that it was the military command of the Northern Military District that completely failed this operation.

“The main thing is that for the first time the accusations were made by the security forces in a harsh form in the presence of the president and actually in the face of the military, and the proposals for reprisal against the guilty were announced almost in an ultimatum form. Putin took time to think about the situation, but addressed the MoD and GS leadership with several threats with obscenities,” the General SVR notes.

As Charter97.org reported, on the night of January 1, 2023, the Ukrainian Defence Forces attacked the Russian military base in the occupied Makiivka, Donetsk region.

The building is completely destroyed. As a result of the strike, 400 occupiers could have been killed and 300 injured.

Russian propagandists also confirmed the heavy losses of the occupiers in Makiivka.
