It Thundered For Several Hours: Russian Military Base In Melitopol Suddenly Exploded

The invaders began to panic.

In Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region, temporarily occupied by the Russian troops, a series of powerful explosions thundered on the night of January 8 due to the detonation of shells of the invaders, which they stored at the Hydromash plant.

This was reported in the Telegram channel of the mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov.

“It was too loud at the Hydromash plant, captured by the Russians, where they placed another military base,” the mayor writes.

He added that the roar continued for several hours. At the same time, Fedorov called to wait for details from the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As noted by the local edition RIA Melitopol, residents of Novyi Melitopol could hear the sounds of explosions especially loudly.

The Russian invaders turned the Hydromash plant into their military base.

“The ammo warehouse was located at the plant itself. After the explosions, shells detonated for about an hour,” the publication says.

In the morning, residents of Melitopol saw smoke over the plant. It also became known that windows flew out in the houses near the enterprise because of the blast wave. No civilians were hurt.

After the explosions at the ammunition warehouse, the interventionists hastily began to expel their weapons from the enterprise, and the occupiers “began active movement” around the city.

Footage and videos of powerful explosions on the night of January 8 in Melitopol, temporarily captured by the enemy, were published on the internet.
