Palestinian Militants Use Water Pipes To Make Rockets

The EU is building water pipes in the Palestinian territories, but there is a risk that Hamas could use them to build home-made rockets, The Telegraph says.

The publication notes that back in 2021 there was a video of militants digging up pipes in the desert and making rockets out of them. However, the EU has not stopped its programmes to fund water pipelines and has allocated around €100 million over the past 10 years to build infrastructure in areas controlled by Hamas.

"Those in charge of EU diplomacy are naive. A sensible security assessment should be made before giving taxpayers' money to Palestinian organisations for infrastructure that could be used by Hamas terrorists for military purposes," said Frank Furedi, executive director of the Brussels-based think tank.
