According to Ipsos, only 2.2% of referendum participants in Poland support the demolition of the fence on the border with Belarus. Accordingly, 97.8% believe that the fence is necessary, reports the PAP agency.
Along with the parliamentary elections in Poland, a referendum took place. The ruling Law and Justice party invited citizens to answer four questions, one of which concerned the fence on the border with Belarus.
97.8% of those who took part in the referendum voted for the fence to remain. 2.2% were in favor of eliminating the fence. This is evidenced by an exit poll conducted by Ipsos on behalf of three Polish television channels: TVP, Polsat and TVN.
In addition, 97.5% of voters did not support the sale of state assets to foreign entities, 96% opposed raising the retirement age and 98.6% voted against accepting migrants from the Middle East and Africa.
However, the results of the referendum will not be binding, since only 40% of voters took part in it. The turnout at the elections was, according to the exit poll, 72.9%. The Election Commission has not yet announced the final figure, but at 17:00 local time it was 57.54%.
