Political Prisoner Inna Panova Released From Prison

Political prisoner Inna Panova has served her full sentence and has been released. This was announced by human rights activists.

Inna was on trial for taking part in protests. The trial took place about a year ago in Minsk.

During the trial, the lawyer insisted that Inna plead guilty. She initially accepted the defence's position, but at the same time denied her participation in the protests. The prosecutor saw this as a refusal to admit guilt. In addition, the court considered the fact that Inna was with her child at the protest as an aggravating circumstance. As a result, she was sentenced to one and a half years in prison.
