What's going on?

As part of the inspection of combat readiness carried out on Lukashenka's orders, the next units of mechanised formations have begun to carry out combat training tasks. This was announced by the Belarusian Ministry of Defence.

The inspection is of a comprehensive nature and "will determine the readiness of military units and subdivisions to perform the tasks as intended".

"The troops will march to the designated areas in the shortest possible time, followed by the performance of standards on the subjects of combat training. In addition, military and special equipment will be checked through control runs, including cross-country runs," the ministry said.

The movement of military equipment and personnel on public roads in the Minsk, Hrodna, Brest and Vitsebsk regions is planned during the inspection.

The last such check took place on 3 October this year.
