Then it went to Mali.
On the night of October 12, a transport Il-76 (RA-76370) of the Russian cargo airline AbakanAir arrived at the Babruisk military airfield from Moscow, writes Belarusian Hajun.
Firstly, this airfield is extremely rarely used by Russian aviation, this is actually the first arrival of an aircraft from the Russian Federation for the entire 2023, not to mention the fact that the aircraft arrived from Moscow at night. Secondly, this airfield is the closest to the Wagner PMC camp in the village of Tzel - 58 km. in a straight line.
And finally, thirdly, social media users associate this aircraft with the mercenaries of the Wagner PMC. Back in the summer, it was spotted in Djibouti and Entebbe.
However, let's return to Belarus. This IL-76 stayed here for more than a day and flew off on the morning of October 13, but the most interesting thing is its further route:
Mineralnye Vody (RF) → Djerba (Tunisia) (intermediate landing) → Bamako (Mali).
And this is important, because it is known that Wagner PMC mercenaries are stationed in Mali. As an example, at the end of summer Reuters wrote that there are about 1,000 Wagnerites in Mali who are helping the local junta. Recently, pro-Wagner channels have been publishing a lot of videos and photos about the participation of the Wagnerites in the battles on the territory of this West African country.
To recap, this is the first flight that could actually transport a certain number of mercenaries from Belarus, despite the rumors about the possible redeployment of the Wagnerites from Belarus to Africa several months ago.
