Earlier 15-year-old Adam was awarded the title of Hero of Chechnya.
Chechen leader's son Adam Kadyrov, 15, who beat up a detainee for setting fire to a Koran, has received the second most important award in Tatarstan - the Order of Duslyk (Friendship), said his uncle, State Duma deputy Adam Delimkhanov.
According to him, Adam Kadyrov was personally presented with the award by the head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, for his "significant contribution to strengthening inter-ethnic and inter-confessional peace and harmony".
"Undoubtedly, this high award is another confirmation of the extraordinary abilities and bright talents of dear nephew Adam!" Delimkhanov stated. The MP added that Kadyrov's son shows himself to be a "purposeful, exceptionally competent and courageous man", who "does his best in every task and achieves noticeable results".
Earlier Adam was awarded the title of Hero of Chechnya. The republic's authorities did not specify exactly for what merits, but this happened shortly after the head of the region, Ramzan Kadyrov, posted a video of his son beating Nikita Zhuravel, a man from Volgograd who had been arrested for setting fire to a Koran. In a comment on the video, the republic's leader said he was proud of Adam's deed. "He beat him and did the right thing," he emphasised.
On October 19, Tatarstan State Council deputy Azat Khamayev raised the topic during a meeting and asked his colleagues, "In what legal field do we live today?" "The head of the subject of the Russian Federation awards the title of hero to his son for beating a man. Further, developing his idea, he says that he is a hero of all Muslims... Who can answer?" Khamayev said.
The next day, the record of the deputy's speech was removed from the website of the State Council, and he himself apologised for the "emotional statement". In turn, the head of Tatarstan hastened to assure that Khamayev's words had nothing to do with the position of the republic's Muslims.
Earlier, Adam Kadyrov and his 17-year-old brother Akhmat were honoured with awards "For Distinction in the Fight against Terrorism", and last October Ramzan Kadyrov said that his underage sons had allegedly taken part in hostilities in Ukraine.
