British Ministry Of Defence: Ukraine Inflicted Functional Defeat On Russian Black Sea Fleet

The defeat of the Russian Navy became a model of success.

The UK Ministry of Defense believes that Ukrainian forces managed to inflict a functional defeat on the Russian fleet in the Black Sea.

Junior British Defense Minister James Heappey said this in a speech at the Warsaw Security Forum, European Pravda reports.

During his speech, the hippie called for highly appreciating the military achievements of Ukraine.

“Yes, Ukraine’s progress is slow, but no one can say that there is none. You can point to the Kharkiv breakthrough as an example of success. But look at what Ukraine has done now in the Black Sea! Ukraine has achieved functional defeat of the Russian Black Sea Fleet,” he noted.

Commenting on Ukraine's ground counteroffensive, Heappey pointed out that “every inch counts”.

The day before, British intelligence reported that after the successful defeat of the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in temporarily occupied Sevastopol, most of the Russian Black Sea Fleet would be redeployed from Sevastopol to Novorossiysk.

What is known about the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ strikes on the Russian Black Sea Fleet

In September, attempts to destroy the Russian Black Sea Fleet gained momentum. On September 3, the Ukrainian military liquidated the occupiers’ boat Tunets in the Black Sea during an attempt to land enemy troops, killing six Russian occupiers.

Another successful hunt by Ukrainian fighters for Russians at sea was the attack on the Sevastopol marine plant in the temporarily occupied Crimea on September 13. Satellite images showed that cruise missiles, likely Storm Shadow, hit the large landing ship Minsk and, more importantly, hit the Varshavyanka-class diesel submarine Rostov-na-Donu. It should be noted that an enemy air attack is a rare operation in the history of wars; the special forces spoke about the details of the operation and the destruction of two Russian ships.

On September 14, in Yevpatoria, the SSU, together with the Navy, carried out a special operation and struck the Russian Triumf air defense complex.

On September 20, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a successful attack on the command post of the Russian Black Sea Fleet near temporarily occupied Sevastopol.

On September 22, as a result of the successful work of the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in temporarily occupied Sevastopol was hit. The missile hit there during a management meeting. It is noted that as a result of the special operation, which was called “Crab Trap,” there were dozens of dead and wounded among the occupiers, including the senior management of the fleet.

Subsequently, information appeared that after the demolition of the Russian Black Sea Fleet HQ in Sevastopol, 34 officers were liquidated, including fleet commander Viktor Sokolov. At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Defense later released a video from a meeting at which Sokolov allegedly attended. The SOF announced that they were clarifying the data on the death of the fleet commander.

According to the ATESH movement, the pseudo-administration of Sevastopol is trying to influence public opinion by spreading rumors about the betrayal of the commander of the Black Sea Fleet, Viktor Sokolov.
