Naftan Employees Detained

On October 18, the notorious judge of Navapolatsk city court Zinaida Balabolava considered the cases of several detainees. The day before several people got under the police round-up right at the gatehouse.

Two Naftan workers were sentenced to 13 days of arrest for having one or more "extremist" links on their pages in Odnoklassniki. Another colleague was arrested for 15 days for reposts from three "extremist sources". All three were convicted under part 2 of article 19.11 of the Administrative Code. According to the police reports, the police noticed signs of the offence a month ago, on September 15.

Another Naftan employee was found guilty of "unauthorised picketing" under Article 24.23 of the Code of Administrative Offences.

On the day of his detention, photos with white-red-white flags and the inscription "Belarusian Protest: Chains without Solidarity" were found on his VKontakte page. He didn't admit his guilt, as the HRC "Viasna" writes.
