Medvedev Discovered To Own New 29-Meter Yacht

The MCY 96 model yacht cruises under the flag of the island nation of Palau.

Deputy head of the Security Council, former President and Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, allegedly owns a 29-meter yacht “GV”. The a target="_blank" href=https://verstka.media/chto-proishodit-s-rossiyskim-flotom-stoimostyu-pochti-10-mlrd-dollarov-posle-vtorzheniya-v-ukrainu#kompot>Verstka investigation is reporting about the vessel, built in 2017 at the Italian shipyard Monte Carlo Yachts.

The MCY 96 model yacht is designed for long sea voyages and cruises under the flag of the island nation of Palau. In June it was first spotted in Russian waters. The estimated cost of GV is 421.5 million rubles ($5 million).

The yacht is registered to the offshore company Unicorn Holdings Group Inc. from Seychelles. After passing through customs, the GV left the Black Sea and headed inland, passing through the Sea of Azov, Don, Rostov, Volga and reaching the final destination of the route — the village of Ekaterinovka near the city of Konakovo in the Tver region. After a short stay in the local harbor, the yacht began cruising along the Volga.

Investigators note that even after the start of the war in Ukraine, yachts of wealthy Russians are registered in foreign jurisdictions. To use a vessel in Russian waters, Russians obtain temporary importation under a bareboat charter agreement.

The supposed captain of the GV along the route is 39-year-old resident of Konakovo, Anatoly Naumov. In telephone books he is recorded as “Anatoly Captain”, “Anatoly Kater”, as well as “Tolya Fotinia” and “Dmitry M”.

Alexei Navalny’s team spoke about the yacht “Photinia”, associated with the family of Dmitry Medvedev, in the investigation “He’s Not Dimon.” The official owner of the yacht is the Investment Commonwealth company, which belonged to the Cyprus offshore company of Ilya Eliseev, Medvedev’s classmate. After the start of the war in Ukraine, this company was re-registered as Russian structures. In 2019 and 2021, Naumov also received a salary from the Investment Commonwealth, as follows from leaks of the Federal Tax Service database.

To finally confirm GV’s connection with Dmitry Medvedev, the Verstka journalist had a telephone conversation with Naumov, having introduced himself as a customs inspector. As a result of the conversation, it was confirmed that Naumov is connected with the design of the yacht, and a “special regime” has been established on the vessel for Dmitry Medvedev.
