HIMARS Turns Enemy ‘Pion’ Self-Propelled Gun Into Scrap Metal With Precise Strike

Fantastic shots from a bird's eye view.

Soldiers of the Eastern Operational-Territorial Association of the National Guard “Spartan” demonstrated amazing work in destroying the enemy’s heavy equipment. This time, Ukrainian defenders turned the 2S7 “Pion” self-propelled gun into a pile of scrap metal, showing its last minutes from a bird’s eye view.

Fantastic footage was published on the unit’s YouTube-канале channel. The fighters skillfully used the HIMARS artillery system provided by their American partners.

“On October 3, at about 11:00, the aerial reconnaissance unit of the 3rd operational brigade “Spartan” established the location of the enemy self-propelled gun 2S7 “Pion”. As a result of the adjustments and target designations provided, the Defense Forces fired at the target using the HIMARS artillery system, and as a result of the strike, the enemy’s self-propelled artillery unit was destroyed,” the National Guard reported.

The 2S7 Pion high-power self-propelled gun is designed to suppress rear areas, destroy particularly important objects and nuclear attack weapons in tactical depth at a distance of up to 47 km. Crew number is up to 7 people.
