MOSSAD-Level Operation: SSU Lured FSB Agent ‘Skif’ Out Of Transnistria

The Russian special forces serviceman took the bait.

Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine conducted a multi-stage special operation during which they removed Russian special forces agent “Skif” from the territory of unrecognized Transnistria, and then detained him in the Odesa region.

This has been reported by the press service of the SSU.

Operation details

The detainee had the task of creating an intelligence network in the south of Ukraine. To do this, he tried to remotely recruit residents of the Odesa region, including local law enforcement officers.

In order to bring the criminal to the territory of Ukraine, SSU counterintelligence officers brought an SSU employee into his field of view and created conditions for her “consent” to cooperate with terrorists.

“According to the scenario of the Ukrainian special service, the attacker came to the Odesa region to personally recruit the “candidate.” The operational combination of the SSU made it possible to gradually document the criminal actions of the Russian agent and detain him “in the act,” the press service writes.

What is known about the agent

According to the investigation, the enemy’s accomplice turned out to be a citizen of Ukraine, who in the early 90s went to Moldova, where he participated in the war on the side of the so-called “Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic” militants.

Later, he became a sniper as part of a unit of the “internal troops of Transnistria” controlled by Russian terrorists. After some time, the defendant received a “promotion” and was appointed group commander of the 17th special forces detachment “Edelweiss” of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

While in the ranks of Russian special forces, he took part in hostilities in Dagestan and Chechnya.

In 2014, he arrived in Odesa to commit mass riots in favor of the terrorist country Russia. After this, he was put on the wanted list by law enforcement officers. To avoid justice, the agent fled to the fake “Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic”, where in 2019 he was recruited by Sergei Zatyka and Denis Marusik, representatives of the local “Ministry of State Security”.

“Then he got the operational pseudonym “Skif”, received instructions, and already in 2023 he began performing enemy tasks. Among the priority areas of his reconnaissance and subversive activities was the collection of intelligence data on the deployment and movement of the Defense Forces in the front-line areas in southern Ukraine,” writes the SSU press service.

In particular, the agent planned to obtain information about the specifics of the work and the list of main tasks that Ukrainian soldiers perform in the region.

What threatens the agent?

According to Part 2 of Article 111 — high treason committed under martial law, the offender faces life imprisonment. He is now in custody.

Efforts are also ongoing to bring the agent’s “curators” to justice.
