Inflation is moving up.

Belstat published data on price increases in October online. Compared to September, inflation was 0.6%, while, for example, vegetables rose in price by 25%. In January–October this year, prices increased by 5% year on year, Belsat noted.

In October 2023, inflation was 0.6% compared to September, 4.3% compared to December last year and 3.7% compared to October last year. In January–October this year, prices increased by 5% year on year.

Over the month, food prices increased by an average of 1.2%, non-foods by 0.4%, and services fell in price by 0.1%.

According to Belstat estimates, prices for vegetables in October compared to September increased by 25%, for vegoil - by 4.2%, chicken eggs - by 1.1%. Pasta fell in price by 1.3%.

Pharmaceuticals increased in price by 2%, refrigerators and cleaning agents - by 1.1–1.2%. Shoes became cheaper by 1.3%.

At the same time, railway transport services fell in price by 2.4% and air transport by 4%, the statistical agency noted.

Compared to last year in October, food prices rose by 4.3%, services by 7.9%, and non-foods fell by 0.3%.
