Vasily Berezutsky has been living in Marbella for several months.
Former Russian national team player Vasily Berezutsky has moved to Spain. The UEFA Cup winner as a member of CSKA Moscow and European Championship bronze medallist, who condemned his country's war against Ukraine, has decided to move to Marbella.
Berezutsky said this in an interview with journalist Nobel Arustamyan's YouTube channel. The former centre-back, who played 101 matches for the national team, admitted that he dreams of living in peace and security. "My dream at the moment is that there was peace in the whole world. It was calm, safe, so that humanity finally came to its senses and realised that some things are not necessary," Vasily said.
He also added that he has been in Spain for several months and chose this country to live in. The Russian has also started learning the language.
"I am here for eight months. Why Marbella? I like it. I went to Barcelona first, then to Marbella. Why didn't you stay in Barcelona? Marbella is better. The weather, at least in winter, the food, plus the atmosphere. There are quite a lot of people from Russia, with whom you can socialise. My children go to school in Marbella. I am going to live in Spain in the next few years," the ex-footballer said.
