Belavia Plane Blocks Runway At Minsk Airport After Accident

The plane was on a flight from Istanbul.

In the evening, November 1, Belavia Boeing 737 MAX 8 blocked the runway at Minsk airport because of a burst tyre.

The aircraft was on a flight from Istanbul, writes the aviation resource of Aviatarshchyna.

According to the source of the publication, the pneumatic wheel of the aircraft burst while taking off - after the departure of this board, pieces of rubber were found on the runway at the airport in Istanbul.

Before landing in Minsk, the airliner made a pass over the runway at an altitude of 275 metres and went to the waiting zone, where it made several circles before landing. The crew and passengers were not injured.

"The aircraft lost the ability to move independently and could not clear the runway on its own. All passengers had to be evacuated to the airport terminal. As a result of the incident and runway blockage, a Pobeda aircraft could not fly from Minsk to Moscow. Another aircraft also had to leave for an alternate aerodrome in Homel," reported the resource.

About an hour and a half after the landing of the airliner from Istanbul, Minsk airport resumed the departure and arrival of flights as usual.
