Belarusian Authorities Want To Introduce Changes To Alcohol Market

One of the possible innovations concerns moonshine.

Changes in the production and circulation of alcoholic products are about to be introduced in Belarus. One of the possible innovations is that the state is going to expand the opportunities for private owners to import and sell imported alcohol. The corresponding bill appeared on the National Legal Internet Portal.

The bill stipulates that the state's exclusive right will not apply to the import of alcohol for duty-free shops that operate for foreign diplomats.

Also, private owners will be able to supply alcohol to official events at embassies and consulates, and representative offices of international organizations in our country.

Now duty-free shops that operate for foreign diplomats are under the wing of Lukashenka’s management company “Dipservice”. This is also done by the companies Belamarket HELENA VALERY and BELAMARKET duty free, in which there is private capital and a share of Deepservice. In recent years, the MarketLiga company, which was founded by Beltamozhservice and the Presidential Sports Club, has also been actively developing.

They also want to allow private owners to import alcohol for international exhibitions and fairs. But no more than 2.5 liters of each type of alcohol. This refers to samples and exhibits. They want to allow both organizers and participants of such events to import such alcohol.

Private alcohol processors may be allowed to import alcohol with a capacity of up to 2 liters into our country.

The authorities also want to introduce innovations regarding alcohol, which can be sold in cultural and ethnographic centers, national parks and reserves. The sale of original alcoholic beverages that are produced using unconventional technology using folk recipes is now permitted. We are talking about recreating Belarusian national traditions.

Officials intend to expand the list of alcohol that can be sold in such places. They want to add alcohol, which is produced from natural grain and vegetable raw materials using unconventional technology by distilling the alcohol-containing mass through special devices. Simply put, moonshine.
