19-Year-Old Krupki Resident Turns At Riot Policemen With Knives

Riot police officers used weapons during the arrest in the Krupki district. A 19-year-old young man was wounded.

As the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported, the police received operational information: in one of the houses in the village of Vialiki Les, Krupki District, “there is a group of armed people.” Employees of the 10th Department (for the Minsk region) of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Riot Police Department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee went to the scene.

There was a 62-year-old man at home with his sons, 36 and 19 years old. The older men were detained, and the younger one approached the law-enforcers with two knives, “making threats”. One of the employees “fired a warning shot, after which lethal force was used.” The young man was hospitalized.

The video published by the Ministry of Internal Affairs shows the law-enforcers breaking down the gate in the fence. Then two men come out of the house and get detained. Then shouts are heard demanding that the knife be put down, a bang is heard, and then one of the employees orders to call an ambulance.
