UN Sharply Brings Putin Down

Russia is preparing a planetary-scale crime.

The UN said that Russia is trying to bring planetary-scale famine. In this regard, the US Ambassador to the UN compares Putin with Stalin, who organized the Holodomor in Ukraine in the 30s of the last century, killing millions of civilians.

Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the head of the U.S. mission to the UN compared them during her speech at a meeting of the White House National Security Council on November 21.

“This month we have the 90th anniversary of the Holodomor, which means death by starvation,” she said.

She recalled that millions of Ukrainian women, children, and men died due to the harsh and repressive policies of the Stalinist regime, due to man-made and deliberate famine.

And this, Thomas-Greenfield argues, is a warning of what could happen if the cruelty and tyranny of the current Kremlin ruler is not stopped.

“But Putin didn’t count, he was rather inspired. Just like Stalin, Putin used food as a weapon of war, as well as caused famine and death in Ukraine,” she added.

The Ambassador also stressed that Russia is waging war not only against the people of Ukraine, but also against vulnerable segments of the population around the world that depend on food exports from Ukraine.

She stated that Russia has exacerbated global food security. After all, before the full-scale invasion last year, Ukraine was one of the leading producers and exporters of agricultural products. However, wheat production in the country has decreased by 35% than before the war.

"Why? Because Russia has stolen Ukrainian grain, sabotaged farmland, bombed Ukrainian agricultural infrastructure and harbour cities,” Thomas-Greenfield said.
