IDF Seek and Destroy More Than 400 Hamas Tunnels

Many of them were under hospitals and schools.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) says they sought and destroyed about 400 Hamas tunnels in the Gaza Strip.

The IDF published its message on Telegram.

The Israeli military noted that Hamas militants have built their network of tunnels under populated areas throughout the Gaza Strip.

They also noted that many of the shafts that lead to the tunnel network are located in hospitals, schools and residential buildings.

According to the IDF, the Yahal special forces unit of the Israeli Combat Engineering Corps played a significant role in seeking and destroying these tunnels.

Earlier it was reported that Israel and Hamas announced an agreement that provides for the release of at least 50 Israeli hostages taken by militants, dozens of Palestinian prisoners held in Israel, and a four-day truce.
