Heavy metals, especially arsenic, have been found in the body of the wife of Ukrainian intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov. This was stated by the former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, Valery Kondratyuk, in a commentary for Radio Liberty.

According to him, several high-ranking employees of the Main Department of Intelligence have also suffered from the same symptoms. Kondratyuk believes that poisoning is the most likely explanation, but he does not know how the metals got into his body.

"The Russian special services have never stopped their attempts to destroy Kylylo Budanov, as well as direct employees of the GUR. And in my opinion, what we are seeing today is Putin's personal revenge for the humiliation he personally suffered as a result of the actions of the GUR under Budanov's leadership," he said.

Yesterday it emerged that Marianna Budanova had been poisoned. According to the media, it is a matter of heavy metals that are not used in the household or in the military. Several intelligence officers were poisoned as well.

According to UNIAN, Budanova is being treated in Ukraine. The spokesman for the secret service, Andriy Yusov, later confirmed the information to the media. He said that Budanova's wife's treatment was almost complete.
