Ukrainian Army Launches Attack On Left Bank of Dnipro River

ISW analysts have revealed the details.

Ukrainian forces took up positions and attacked the eastern (left) bank of the Kherson region on 28 November. This is according to a recent report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

The Ukrainian General Staff reported that Ukrainian forces continued to hold positions on the eastern bank of the Kherson region. Russian military bloggers claimed that Ukrainian forces attacked in the area of Poima (10 kilometres south-east of Kherson and 4 kilometres from the Dnipro river) and in the forest area near Krynki (30 kilometres north-east of Kherson city and 2 kilometres from the Dnipro river).

On 28 November, Russian military bloggers said that Russian troops were continuing their attempts to dislodge Ukrainian troops from "firmly entrenched" positions on the eastern bank of the Kherson region.

A prominent Russian blogger said that fighting in Krynki was continuing and that Russian forces were concentrating significant forces along the Poima-Krynki line.

According to Russian sources, units of the 810th Guards Marine Brigade (Black Sea Fleet) and the 61st Marine Brigade (Northern Fleet) are also operating in the Krynki area.

Ukrainian military observer Konstantin Mashovets said units of the newly formed Russian 104th Guards Airborne Division (VDV) were deployed immediately north and north-east of the Crimean Perekop Isthmus, far from the fighting in the Kherson region.
