Ex-head of the Main Intelligence Directorate Kondratyuk revealed unknown facts from the "Berezovsky case".
Valery Kondratyuk, who headed the Ukrainian Main Intelligence Directorate in 2015-2016, in an interview with the editor-in-chief of the online publication "GORDON" Alesa Batzman revealed that FSB director Aleksandr Bortnikov once requested Ukraine's help to "get" runaway businessman Boris Berezovsky.
Kondratyuk specified that this was before 2010 and that he personally witnessed the conversation between Bortnikov and the then head of the SSU. Back then, there existed such a practice as regular meetings of CIS countries' special services, he explained.
"The Ukrainian side then replied: 'You don't need him at all, forget about him. You have better things to do." Bortnikov then said: "You can't imagine it, when you are dialled by the Director every morning." Director is the nickname or pseudonym of [Russian President Vladimir] Putin among FSB officers. And [Putin's] main question was, 'When are you bringing him [Berezovsky] down?" Kondratyuk said."
He added that as far as revenge is concerned, Putin has never forgotten anything.
