Large-Scale Hacking Of Banking System Takes Place In Russia

Hackers "broke into" three major banks and announced the freezing of deposits.

Today, on November 9, 3 major Russian banks reported this morning about stopping operations on deposits of individuals. We are talking about VBRR (All-Russian Bank for Development of Regions), Bank-Fora and BZhF Bank.

They disseminated information that the accounts of clients will be partially frozen, and funds over 1.4 million rubles converted into government bonds in accordance with presidential decree No. 819 of November 2, 2023. This is reported by the Russian media.

At the same time, payments on smaller amounts in the accounts will be suspended until the freezing measures are cancelled. However, representatives of financial institutions explained the message by the hacking of their websites.

BAZA sources at BZhF Bank confirmed that their website had been broken. Fora Bank also reported hacking.
