What is known about Siarhei Erameeu?

Belarusian native Siarhei Erameeu, accused of blowing up two trains on the Baikal-Amur Mainline (BAM) in Buryatia, worked at Naftan [a Belarusian state-owned oil refinery - Ed.] and joined the 2020 strike, Nasha Niva reports.

Siarhei Erameeu is a Belarusian whom Russian authorities accused of the terrorist attack. He allegedly “confessed” to carrying out sabotage in a strategic Russian tunnel. They use it for the transfer of weapons from China to the Ukrainian frontline for the war of aggression.

Siarhei was dismissed for political reasons in Belarus. He was working for Naftan and took part in the 2020 strike. He was an instrument technician then. His photo with a statement about joining the strike was published on various channels.

Siarhei Erameeu was born in Navapolatsk in 1971. He lived his entire life in the city where he grew up. He is from a simple family. Erameeu’s father died early, and his mother worked all her life as a painter in the construction department.

Erameeu is the father of many children. He has three children. True, he divorced his wife.

What he did after his dismissal from Naftan is not known for certain. Earlier, the media, citing Russian intelligence services, reported that he was an individual entrepreneur.

Eremeev is in custody until January 30, 2024. He is being held in a pre-trial detention center in the city of Omsk.

According to the case materials, Eremeev allegedly took the explosives from Belarus to the Far East. He allegedly took “at least seven unidentified explosive devices.”

As a result, two trains with oil products travelling from Taishet to Tynda and Neryungri along the Baikal-Amur Mainline and tanks with fuel and lubricants caught fire on November 29 and 30. Traffic along the mainline was temporarily blocked.
