Starting with the captain.
Losses of the Russian Black Sea Fleet during the liquidation of the large landing ship "Novocherkassk" are much more serious than Moscow claims.
The ship's commander - Captain 2nd rank Nikolai Stepanenko - was wounded, and also his senior assistant.
Such information was shared by the influential Russian "VChK-OGPU" Telegram channel, which is linked to the Russian security services.
According to his sources, captain Stepanenko's collarbone and shoulder were injured in the explosion and he is now undergoing treatment with his senior aide in one ward.
Dozens of sailors died, as the resource assures.
"On the night of December 26, the entire personnel was raised on the alert "Aviation hazard" .... Servicemen: contract servicemen (77 people on duty officially) and conscripts (the exact number is unknown) were on the ship at the time of the fly-in, and more than half of them, with a high degree of probability, died," the resource reported.
According to its data, the Russian Defence Ministry's classified internal information indicates that 33 sailors of the Russian Armed Forces are missing, as well as four enlisted men. There is no chance that any of them may be alive.
The media assure that 29 more people were injured during the liquidation of the Novocherkassk. Three of them are in critical condition, one of them has already been evacuated to Moscow for treatment, the other two are being prepared for transportation.
On the night of December 26, the Ukrainian aviation struck the Black Sea Fleet port in occupied Feodosiya with two Storm Shadow/SCALP missiles. The Russian air defence dome was unable to intercept the strike.
As a result of a direct hit, the cargo of the Novocherkassk was first caught on fire and soon detonated. Judging by the enormous power of the explosion, there were either shells or Shahed attack UAVs on board.
