The military named the weak point of the occupiers.
The Kinburn Spit is the only still-occupied piece of land in the Mykolaiv region of Ukraine. It is not easy to completely drive the invaders out from this territory because of the tactics they have chosen for unexpected raids to shell Ochakiv. However, the enemy's weak point is logistics, and over time, the firepower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will force the Russians to leave Kinburn, according to Major General Dmytro Marchenko.
The legendary defender of the Mykolaiv region, who is now coordinating the partisan movement in the occupied territories of southern Ukraine, commented on the current situation on the Kinburn Spit in an interview with NikVesti. local news publisher. Major General Marchenko confirmed the information of Nataliya Gumenyuk, the speaker of the South Operational Command, that the peninsula is actually a “gray zone” now. So, Russian troops are attacking Ochakiv almost daily.
“The Russians are not permanently there. They are keeping some weapons on the spit. They have some number of personnel, which ensures the protection of these sources. The main enemy forces are entering and leaving Kinburn. When they receive orders to shell Ochakiv, they enter, shoot and leave. Therefore, it is very difficult for us to ‘catch’ them there at the very moment of artillery strikes. But we are working on it and very successfully, and soon you will see the result of our work,” the general said.
Dmytro Marchenko and the host in the studio also drew some parallels between the Kinburn Spit and Snake Island, assessing the likelihood of a “goodwill gesture” from the enemy.
“Both sides, and they and we, understand that there is a water obstacle, which, unfortunately, is very difficult for us to overcome. However, the invaders will still leave the peninsula over time. We will force them to do it. Just like we did in Kherson: the destruction of logistics, supply routes, ammunition depots, and so on. They will be forced to retreat, because they will have no reason to stay on the Kinburn Spit,” the military emphasized.
Recall that a few days ago, a column of smoke raised over the Kinburn Peninsula and the Dnieper-Bug estuary: according to preliminary information, the AFU soldiers “covered” the enemy’s artillery systems used by the invaders for shelling the Mykolaiv region.
