The occupiers had to retreat after defeating "elite" units of marines.
The unsuccessful assault in Vuhledar has resulted in the Russian occupation army losing territories it had managed to seize over the past year, reports dialog.ua.
The information is also confirmed by Kremlin propagandists.
In particular, an odious Kremlin propagandist, "war correspondent" Marina Kharkova, reported this on Russian social media.
"Near Vuhledar, there has been a retreat to positions of one year ago in some sections. Heavy and gruelling fighting continues," the propagandist wrote.
She also acknowledged that pro-Ukrainian sentiment is very strong in the captured territories. The civilians are waiting for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
As Charter97.org reported, it was Vuhledar where the Russian Armed Forces' "big" February offensive was focused. The Russians stormed a broad front line, but it was in Vuhledar where the breakthrough was planned. Two "elite" Russian Marines were defeated there, the occupiers suffered heavy losses and the surviving units of the Russian Marines refused to storm the town.
