Media: AFU Officers Downed Over Avdiivka Russian SU-25 Fighter Jet With Stinger

The pilot was taken prisoner.

Ukrainian media report that the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a Russian SU-25 this morning near Avdiivka area: soldiers of the 110th brigade using the Stinger MANPADS downed the fighter jet of the invaders.

People’s Deputy of Ukraine Musa Magomedov confirmed this information on his Telegram channel.

According to him, the Russian pilot managed to eject and survive but was captured by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Mr Magomedov stressed that the destruction of the enemy aircraft was an operation of retaliation for the strike of the Russian army on the Avdiivka Carbonite Chemical Plant the day before.

“People say that revenge is a dish best served cold... But not in this case. Yesterday's air raid on the Avdiivka Carbonite Chemical Plant was avenged in less than a day. This morning, over Avdiivka, the forces of the 110th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down a SU-25, and the pilots were taken prisoners. Glory to the Armed Forces of Ukraine!” he said.
