How Wages Changed In Belarus, Poland, Lithuania Over 10 Years

Nasha Niva compared how wages have changed over the past 10 years in Belarus and neighboring Poland and Lithuania.
Lithuania
The average salary netto in Lithuania is 1153 euros, or about 1225 US dollars. Ten years ago, the average salary in Lithuania was 530 euros, or about 715 dollars at the then exchange rate. Thus, over the past 10 years, average salaries in Lithuania have grown by more than 70% in dollar terms and almost 120% in euro terms.
Poland
The average salary in Poland in January 2023 was PLN 5,038, or about 1,120 US dollars, or about 1,055 euros.
At the beginning of 2013, an average Pole received PLN 2,730 net per month, which at the then exchange rate was equal to 840 dollars, or about 615 euros. Thus, over 10 years, average wages in Poland have grown by almost 35% in dollar terms and by almost 75% in euros.
Belarus
After paying taxes, according to official figures, an average Belarusian received 1,449 rubles in January, which is about 518 dollars, or about 485 euros.
Ten years ago, in January 2013, Belarusians received an average of $435 on hand. Thus, in dollar terms, the wages of Belarusians have increased by approximately 19% over the past ten years. Inflation of the dollar itself during this period amounted to almost 30%.
