Warsaw reacted to the illegal verdict against one of the leaders of the Union of Poles.

The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacted to the illegal verdict against the journalist, one of the leaders of the Union of Poles in Belarus, Andei Pachobut.

“We condemn the unjust verdict issued by the court of the authoritarian state. Andei Pachobut is a Polish and Belarusian patriot. We have been supporting and we will continue to support him. The day will come when released Andrei Pachobut and Belarusian Poles will be able to live in a free Belarus,” said the official representative of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Łukasz Jasina.

As the website Charter97.org wrote, today the Hrodna Regional Court issued a verdict in the case of Andei Pachobut. He was sentenced to eight years in a penal colony. The verdict was issued by Judge Dzmitry Bubenchyk.
