A 49-year-old philosopher-theologian who had a higher education was killed in the war in Ukraine. His name was Khyshykto Tsybikov. He was from the Russian Republic of Buryatia. He called himself a Buddhist Lama and taught schoolchildren horse races, and at the front, he commanded the occupiers’s motorized rifle battalion.
The death of the invader, who voluntarily agreed to join Putin's "special operation", was confirmed by the Buryat public. Unconventional for military obituaries from the Russian Federation, a rather long post was devoted to him, according to Obozrevatel.

A native of a large family Tsybikov was born on 09/10/1973. He lived in the village of Bulum, Khorinsky district. In addition to high school, he graduated from the university with an honours diploma.
In particular, after the army, the Buryat decided to devote himself to the service of Buddhism and went as a huvarak to the Egituysky Datsan (the Buddhist monastery-university). From there he was sent to study at the Aginsky Buryat Buddhist Institute.
“He graduated with an honours diploma in the speciality of a philosopher-theologian, able to reflect, discuss and present the Buddha’s Teaching in an accessible form, improve in practice. Since 2002, he continued his service in the branch of the Egituysky Datsan of the city of Ulan-Ude in the village of Zeleny,” the authors of the post praised Tsybikov.
They added that he spent two years working on a sculpture of the Buddha and organizing horse racing for boys. The Buryat was fond of domesticating wild horses. Later after serving in the Datsan, he worked as a watchman at a school.
The obituary notes that Khyshykto Tsybikov was not at home when the summons was delivered. But, having learned about it, he "visited his mother, said goodbye, and went to Khorinsk voluntarily", hurrying to get into the ranks of the Russian "mobics".
“He managed to catch the last bus with the mobilized troops. He was hoping to meet his nephew, who was at the military duty and was 20 km away,” the message reads, indicating that Tsybikov was taken to Putin’s war in September 2022.

He served as the commander of a motorized rifle battalion of military unit No 06705 (this is the 36th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Lozovskaya Red Banner Brigade with a permanent deployment point in the city of Borzya, Transbaikal Territory of the Russian Federation). The Buddhist Lama invader fought against the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Vuhledar in the Donetsk Region and paid with his life.
After being seriously wounded, the invader Tsybikov “demilitarized” [died - Ed.] on February 28, 2023 in the settlement of Nikolaevskoe. A few weeks later, on March 14, he was buried back home in Buryatia.
