Ukrainian Special Forces On The Loose In Bakhmut: The Operation Meaning

The Ukrainian Bakhmut, which has been stormed by Russian troops with frontal attacks for more than six months, is being brought in by the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine (SOF).

They will cover the withdrawal of the main group of troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the city, for some time they will go on the loose in the urban battles, after which they will also leave this fortified area, having completed their task.

“That's it for Bakhmut, of course. Let me remind you that the battle began, if not on May 17, when Bakhmut was shelled for the first time, then on August 1, when they began to storm it. The Armed Forces of Ukraine disrupted Putin's farewell speech, in fact, that's why they kept the city for the last couple of weeks. They left Bakhmut, blowing up the last bridge in parting. And instead of regular units, the Special Operations Forces (SOF) enter. It was the same with Severodonetsk. And now the SOF will not allow the establishment of Russian and “Wagner” control over Bakhmut for a long time, they will fight there for quite a long time among the ruins,” the journalist said.

She assured that leaving Bakhmut would not be a big problem for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Ukrainian artillery firmly holds Chasov Yar, from which they will keep the city under artillery fire control.

In general, according to her, Bakhmut, like Severodonetsk in its time, became a Pyrrhic victory for Russia. The command of the Russian Federation hoped that in the defense of the city, the Ukrainians would burn the reserves necessary for the future counteroffensive.

That did not happen. Instead, the Russian Federation itself destroyed its reserves in these “meat assaults”.
