There is an important sign of an approaching counter-offensive.

The end of the occupier's offensive near Bakhmut, the attempted storming of Vuhledar and the failure of the Russian occupier's offensive in the Luhansk region are likely to create good conditions for Ukrainian counter-offensive operations.

ISW analysts note that Russian forces are likely to lose the initiative in Ukraine in the coming months due to the expected culmination of their three main offensive operations.

The Institute for the Study of War recalled that the AFU had previously seized the initiative after the culmination of a Russian offensive to seize Severodonetsk and Lysychansk in July 2022, followed months later by counter-offensive operations that liberated large areas of Kharkiv and Kherson regions.

"The culmination of Russia's current three offensive operations is likely to allow Ukrainian forces to launch a counteroffensive anywhere along the front line that they deem most suitable for such operations," the report said.

As Charter97.org reported, an AFU colonel said when the counteroffensive will start.
