Court Sentences Dyleuski, Latushka, Tsikhanouskaya

They were tried in absentia.

The Minsk court sentenced the leader of the Belarusian Association of Workers Siarhei Dyleuski, ex-presidential candidate Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, ex-culture minister Pavel Latushka, Volha Kavalkova and Maryja Maroz. We would like to point out that they were tried in absentia.

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya was sentenced to 15 years in a penal colony, while Pavel Latushka was sentenced to 18 years in a strict regime colony. Maryja Maroz, Volha Kavalkova and Siarhei Dyleuski were each sentenced to 12 years in prison. Maroz and Kavalkova are to serve their sentences in a general regime colony, while Dyleuski is to serve his sentence in a strict regime colony.

The verdict is not final and can be appealed.
