Will the dictator be tried for crimes against peace and humanity even after his death?
The Prosecutor General's Office has established a working group to prepare a draft law for determining the procedure for criminal proceedings against the deceased persons involved in "crimes against peace and security of mankind" and war crimes. The ministry's press service reports that.
"The group aims to develop a legal mechanism for bringing to criminal responsibility those Nazi criminals and their accomplices, who for a number of reasons, including those related to the policies of individual states, have not been brought to trial," the statement said.
It is also noted that after the appropriate amendments are made to the legislation, criminal proceedings "against the chasteners that were committing crimes against the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War" will become possible.
We remind that the European Parliament has approved a resolution calling for an international tribunal to investigate Putin's and Lukashenka's crimes against peace and humanity.
